BBC Good Food Show – NEC June 16

My lovely friend Chloe, or The Gastronomic Gorman as she is known around the West Midlands, kindly invited me along to the BBC Good Food Show last Saturday for my birthday. What a lovely friend she is 🙂

With over 250 exhibitors, live demos from celebrity chefs, live interviews and a hell of a lot of tasting opportunities, it promised to be a great day!!

We managed to bag tickets for Michel Roux Jr, who did a lovely demo of an olive fougasse and a gorgeous looking courgette and red fish dish that I hope to find the recipe of!

Suffice to say I was stuffed. There was so much lovely food and drink on offer, and we methodically worked our way around it.

Here are my picks of the bunch, and god it was hard to choose favourites!

Coopers Sausage Rolls

Delicious hot or cold, these are amazing and blooming massive. I wish I had bought more than one of the Pork, Hickory BBQ ones, as I was gutted to finish it!

Their bottles are amazing, their taste is delicious! I bought the Gooseberry Gin Liqueur that I would happily drink straight – it was so summery and light, and the Raspberry Vodka Liqueur that would go great with a dash of lemonade and a bit of mint.

FLOWER&WHITE

Gorgeous meringues, crisp and dry on the outside, soft and light on the inside. I strongly recommend trying the pistachio and passion fruit ones!

The Tipsy Tart

Their website is coming soon, but you can check them out on Facebook in the meantime. Quirky bottles that will make your eyes go funny when you are tipsy from all the alcohol. I bought a gorgeous Violet Vodka and can’t wait to make my own glittery cocktails with it!

Charlie & Ivy’s

Oils infused so beautifully I want to drink it straight from the bottle. I bought the Garlic, ginger & Chilli, Smoked Garlic & Black Peppercorn and (my favourite) Lemon, Balsamic & Juniper Berry. Blooming lovely, I just wish I had bought all 6 of them. They also do a range of dressings, mayos and rapeseed oils.

Amazing food show – bring on the next one!
